LEASE YOGA

About Me

Movement has always
been part of my story.

As the youngest of five, I was always trying to keep up with my older siblings—following along, joining in, and wanting to be part of everything.

I had a huge zest for life and was always looking for the next adventure. My brothers and sisters are my closest friends, and those early years shaped so much of who I am today: my love for family, connection, laughter, and making the most of every moment.

Family at the heart

Family has always been at the heart of my life. Today, I’m a mum of two, and together with my husband we’ve built a life filled with adventure, busy seasons, plenty of laughter, and all the beautiful chaos that comes with family life.

Being a mum has taught me that life doesn’t always look perfect, and that finding time to move, breathe, and reconnect with yourself is something to truly value.

Learning to show up

Movement has always been a big part of who I am. As a teenager, I spent 12 years playing representative hockey as a goalkeeper. It was a chapter of my life that taught me resilience, discipline, and the importance of showing up.

Looking back, I realise I’ve always been someone who shows up. I’ve pushed myself, carried responsibility, and learned resilience through many different seasons of life. Yoga became the place where I finally didn’t have to achieve anything—I could simply be.

Finding something deeper

Over the years, I’ve explored many different ways to move, from boxing and strength training to Pilates, skiing, and running. While I’ve always loved the physical challenge and energy that movement brings, yoga became something much deeper.

Yoga gave me a space to slow down, listen, and connect with myself in a way I hadn’t experienced before. It allowed me to show up as my authentic self without judgement or expectation—simply moving, breathing, and being present.

From practice to teaching

During a family move to Queenstown, I had the opportunity to immerse myself more deeply in my practice and complete my 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training, followed by 50-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training.

I later trained in Barre Pilates with The Method in Auckland and completed Level 1 Sound Bowl Training, continuing to explore the many ways movement, rest, and sound can support the body, mind, and nervous system.

Why I created Lease Yoga

After years of teaching, Lease Yoga was created from a desire to share movement in a way that feels welcoming, uplifting, and accessible. As someone who understands the reality of busy family life, I wanted to create classes that fit into real life—whether you have ten minutes or an hour, whether you’re at home, travelling, or simply needing a moment for yourself.

MY APPROACH

“Come as you are. Move in the way your body needs today. There is no perfect pose and no falling behind.”
01

Feel welcome

You never need to be flexible, experienced, or perfectly prepared.

02

Move honestly

Choose effort when it feels good and softness when you need it.

03

Enjoy the practice

Movement can be strong and meaningful without losing its sense of joy.
